They walked a long lonely road
in a crowd where each felt more alone
But the mountains kept them company;
The mountains, the mist and the apparent history
of the rivers and trees and the clouded skies
and the emerging crimson sun
And so they walked, setting aside daily thoughts;
thoughts and feelings of what they knew and lost
They walked with heavy hearts, in surrender
where was their savior, they wondered
All they knew was they had to walk;
walk that long lonely road in a crowd
Feet were tired, eyes were red,
blood was dry, mouths hadn’t been fed
Dreams of salvation often crossed their minds
but silence enveloped them, these things were never shared
They slowly traversed the rocky terrain
night came, went and was transformed into day
Little did they know that seasons will come and go
years will pass, they would lose track of time
Beards will grow, age will show, but the wind will still blow
And so the winds did blow, as they made their way
along a path that would make sense backwards
but which still had to be tread in that mysterious way
And tread they did, they traveled this road
They did not have much else to do
but walk in faith, in fear and awe
They walked in a crowd, powerless and strong
And the gods decided the time had come
that night the stars shone as bright as the sun
Never before in the history of time
had a sight like it come to show
itself upon a mountain of grain and sand
The basics of humans and nature exposed
Fear, morals and other confusing concepts
dismantled in form and meaning and all
Rise, rise from the sea, angel of Love
With wings, forsaken as a once shining armor
that has been splashed with blood and wrath
from many a men and women, and now children
with fear and hatred written across their hearts
and across a future so calamitous
Rise, as the elixir of Truth washes your wings clean
of all the dread and misery
As a light shines through you, it shines through us
through every miniscule piece of dust
We bow to thee, to thee we bow!
You are our savior, we know it now!
